Basketball Head Coach - Scott Kellar
Scott Kellar is the current Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Century High School in Hillsboro. He has coached for 18 years starting his career as an Assistant Coach at Western Oregon University and for the last 16 years has been a head coach including ten years at Century HS. Scott has had a very successful coaching career leading three different high schools into the state playoffs, including a Northwest Oregon Conference championship this past season. His teams are characterized by their fundamentals and level of effort that they display. Scott also has an abundance of camp experience.
He has been in charge of the Nike Basketball Camps on campus for 10 years, has run his own high school camps for 16 years, and has worked camps for coaching legends Mike Krzyzewski and the all time high school wins leader Morgan Wooten. His philosophy of emphasizing skill improvement, competition, and a great deal of enthusiasm as been a winning combination at camp.
Basketball Coach - Anthony Taylor
Anthony Taylor began his basketball career as an All American at Beaverton High School in Beaverton, Oregon. He then went on to play for the University of Oregon from 1985-1988. Scoring 1,939 points, and finishing his career at U of O as the school’s No. 2 all-time leading scorer and the Pac-10’s No. 7 all-time scorer, Anthony was one of the most versatile players to ever wear a Ducks uniform. As a two-time all conference selection, Taylor led the Pac-10 with a 21.3 points-per-game average in 1987-88 and scored at least 20 points 43 times in his college career. His 36-point performance against Arizona State tied him for fifth all-time in single-game scoring at Oregon.
In 1984 Anthony tried out for the U.S.A. Olympic basketball team and made it to the final 26. He also represented the United States at the 1987 World University games, scoring 49 points in eight games. He was picked in the second round of the 1988 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks, went on to play for the NBA’s Miami Heat, and finished his career with an eight year playing stint in Europe. Anthony’s greatest achievement, however, came in 2004 when he was inducted into the University of Oregon Hall of Fame. Anthony also coaches the sixth grade girls’ basketball team at St. John the Apostle School in Oregon City, where in 2005 they won the City Championship.
Girls Basketball Coach - Laurie Vizzini
Laurie Vizzini (Milligan), a Tigard High School All-American who went on to play for the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers, winning 3 National Championships from 1996-1998. Laurie is the first player (man or woman) in the history of college basketball to play in 4 consecutive Final Four Championship games, winning 3 rings.
